LAHORE - An election tribunal of Lahore High Court on Friday directed the Punjab University to submit the record of BA degree of PML-N MPA Farah Deeba till August 24 on a petition seeking her disqualification on the basis of bogus degree. On last hearing, the court had sought the degree record of woman MPA but the varsity failed to submit the said record on Friday. The tribunal showing annoyance delay gave fresh orders to the university in this regard. The LHC election tribunal was hearing a petition filed by Shahida Parveen challenging the election of MPA Farah Deeba for allegedly having a fake degree. The petitioner submitted that Farah, daughter of comic legend Rangeela, was elected as the Member of Punjab Assembly on a special seat reserved for women. Parveen said that Deeba had allegedly lied to the Election Commission and her degree was fake. Majid Karim Khokhar, the petitioners counsel, submitted that Farahs actions were in violation of Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution and requested the court to declare her election illegal. After hearing the arguments, the tribunal issued a notice to Farah Deeba for August 20 and sought record from the university.
