NEW DELHI - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F Amir Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday met Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi.
According to JUI-F spokesman Jan Achakzai‚ the two leaders exchanged views on bilateral relations and the issues bedeviling ties between the two neighbours, including Kashmir.
Fazl said it was a must to resolve contentious issues between the two countries for durable peace in the region.
PHONES PM; DEMANDS END TO OPERATION IN NWA: JUI-F Chief Mualana Fazlur Rehman on Friday telephoned Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from New Delhi and discussed with him important issues , including law and order situation across the country.
During the telephonic conversation with the PM, Fazl stressed the need to immediately halt the military operation in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) and resolve the issue through dialogue.
He also demanded the PM lift curfew in NWA and allow shifting of the injured to hospitals for treatment. Fazl is currently on a visit to India where he is holding meetings with Indian leadership over the bilateral issues which are bone of contention and root cause of disputes between the two countries.
