Adamjee donates Rs2m to Citizens Foundation

LAHORE (PR): In an initiative to fund education for children across Pakistan, Adamjee Life donated Rs2 million to The Citizens Foundation (TCF) through their #EnsureASmile digital campaign.

Keeping up to date with the rise of social media and the digital uprising, Adamjee Life introduced the #EnsureASmile digital campaign, in which the company donated Rs10 to TCF each time the hashtag was retweeted or shared on Twitter and Facebook. Participants were also given the option of uploading their photographs, making the campaign enjoyable and interactive for those taking part in it.

Jehanzeb Zafar, Chief Strategy Officer at Adamjee Life, said, “This is one of the most unique CSR campaigns any company has undertaken in Pakistan. Approximately 24 million children are out of schools due to various socio-economic factors, and some have joined hands with TCF to build awareness around this issue. We decided to go with a digital initiative to keep with the times, and ensure that we engage and create awareness both on-ground and amongst the digital audience in the country.”

 LKPC inks agreement with OCL

LAHORE (PR): The Lahore Knowledge Park Company (LKPC) has awarded a contract to Osmani & Company Private Limited (OCL) to oversee the development work of the iconic Lahore Knowledge Park (LKP), the nation’s first technology and growth park.

A contract to this effect was signed in Lahore by Lahore Knowledge Parkand CEO Shahid Zaman and OCL Executive Director Farhan Haider. Under the terms of the agreement, OCL has been appointed as engineering consultants for developing the detailed urban design and guidelines of the Lahore Knowledge Park project.

 As engineering consultants OCL will also prepare the architectural and engineering design of buildings within the park and extend project management and supervisory services for development of infrastructure and buildings.

Lahore Knowledge Park is being developed as a megaproject, fully in alignment with the internationally recognised practices of sustainable development.

 VimpelCom opens GSS Center in Islamabad

LAHORE (PR): VimpelCom Ltd., a leading global provider of telecommunications and digital services headquartered in Amsterdam and serving over 200 million customers, has announced the opening of Global Services Pakisatn in Islamabad, one of three new Global Shared Services Centers to be introduced.

Global Shared Services (GSS) is part of VimpelCom’s strategy to transform its operating model by reducing operational complexity to create a world class company.

 Through GSS, VimpelCom will centralise and simplify transactional activities for its Procurement, Finance, and Human Resources functions across the Group’s 13 operating companies. Global Services Pakistan will provide services to VimpelCom’s operating companies in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Amsterdam, and aims to employ 400 people.

 JS Academy launches Islamiat dictionary in sign language

LAHORE (PR): JS Academy for the Deaf has launched the ‘Farang-e-Isharati Islami’ - an Islamiat dictionary in sign language, a first one of its kind in Pakistan for the deaf people. The Islamiat dictionary has over 600 Islamic terms which took over 3 years in the making.

 The words have been depicted in signs to facilitate deaf people to understand the meanings and get clarification of these words. Given that there aren’t any comprehensive sign language books on Islamic teachings; JS Academy for the Deaf has paved the way for others by launching an Islamic dictionary in sign language.
