LAHORE – Icchra police have recovered the body of a 25-year-old man, who was strangled to death from a local graveyard on Monday.
Locals had informed the police about the body which was lying outside a darbar in a graveyard situated near Peer Ghazi Road.
Police after recovering the body have identified him as Ehsan Elahi of Icchra. “The deceased worked as carpenter at a local shop. During preliminary interrogation, we have learned that some unidentified accused men thrashed him before strangling him to death,” a police investigator said.
He added that the unknown culprits had committed the murder at some other place before throwing the body at the graveyard. The body was removed to the City morgue for post mortem. Policemen are awaiting an autopsy to ascertain the main cause of his death. Further investigations are underway.
Woman dies: A woman died and her husband sustained multiple injuries when their motorbike hit a car at Jallo Moor on Monday. Police said that the couple namely Shahzad and Asima was riding on a motorbike when a car heading from the rear hit them.
Resultantly, the woman and her husband suffered serious injuries. They were taken to a local hospital where the doctors pronounced the woman as dead while the condition of Shahzad was told critical till writing.
A policeman said the driver of the car had fled the scene but a team is investigating the case. No arrest has been made as yet.
