ISLAMABAD (Online) ISPR Director General Maj Gen Athar Abbas has clarified that no Pakistan Army officer has been arrested for having links with the prime suspect Faisal Shahzad in the botched attempt to bomb New York Citys Times Square early this month. LA Times on Tuesday reported that investigators have arrested a Pakistani army major linked to the prime suspect. He said that western media reports in this regard are baseless, concocted and devoid of facts. Talking to Online on Thursday, Abbass said that there is no truth in such news items and no army officer - retired or in service - has been taken into custody for links with Faisal Shahzad. He clarified that last month retired major was sacked and arrested for violation of discipline but he has no link with Faisal Shahzad case.
