LAHORE Pakistan notched their third win in the AFC U14 Festival of Football (South Asia Region) when they overpowered Maldives 2-0 at Municipality Sports Complex, Hamedan City (Iran) on Thursday. The two-goal hero Mohammad Bilal of Faisalabad against India, raised his tally to three when he hit sparkling goal against tenacious Maldives . Bilal broke off side trap in the 16th minute to push Pakistan ahead and skipper Muneer Ahmed consolidated the lead four minutes later when he utilised penalty-kick, slotting the ball into left corner. Our goal is to finish the programme successfully and hope we will find some promising players from this team for the long run, said Pakistani coach Hassan Baloch after another impressive win. Later on in another match on Thursday, Pakistan drew 0-0 with Bangladesh. I am working with the boys for last one month and was hopeful about boys and they did well to hold nippy Pakistanis. On the first day of the competition on Wednesday, Pakistan got rid of Maldives 4-0, followed by scorching 4-2 win over India. The third match saw luckless Pakistan going down 0-1 against Iran through last minute goal when Indian Assistant Referee had allowed Iranian front-runner, having suspicion of off side, to do the needful. Meanwhile, Pakistani manager Asghar Khan Anjum attended Managers Meeting, held to discuss various technical matters such as match formats and fixtures as well as refereeing. Hamedan Football Association President Abbas Soufi, local organising committee members and representatives of the participating teams were also present in this meeting.
