LAHORE - Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawal-led government has taken sincere steps to transform deprivations of people into happiness.
“Due to solid economic policies of the government, the country has got on the road to development. Pakistan of today is more peaceful, secure and prosperous than before,” the chief minister said while talking to party legislators who called on him here on Monday. He said some defeated elements in politics always tried to spread frustration. Despite their negative politics and repeated sit-ins, the PML-N government will continue the journey of development, he said.
Shehbaz said it was heartening that mega projects had been completed in record time with transparency. The performance of the government is evident and “we shall win the next elections on the basis of our good performance”, he said.
He said that history was a witness to the politics of public service of the PML-N and added that policies had been designed keeping in view the internal and external challenges. The positive results of these policies are fully visible to people and country is moving forward towards progress due to solid policies of the government, he said. He said that peace had been restored in the country and employment opportunities had been increased. He said the PML-N government was following a comprehensive plan to resolve the issues facing the country. “Due to our sincere efforts, the energy crisis and the challenge of terrorism have been overcome to a large extent. Loadshedding is negligible while the menace of terrorism has been eliminated to a large extent,” he said.
Shehbaz said that practical steps were taken to solve problems of people on a priority basis during different tenures of the PML-N. “We are selflessly serving people,” he said. He said the PML-N government had set records of transparency, quality and speed in development projects and added that development projects were an example of their own with regard to transparency and quality. He said that foundation of a prosperous, developed and peaceful Pakistan had been laid. “We are taking the journey of development forward by pursuing the golden principles of hard work, trust and honesty,” he said.
He said that negative politics had lost credibility. He said that elements involved in negative politics and allegations had no concern with the problems of people. “We are actively working to make Pakistan fully developed in the light of sayings of the founder of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. We only believe in public service and this journey of service to humanity will continue in future as well,” the chief minister said.
Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives in a road accident at Shah Hussain Bypass in Khairpur area of Sindh province. He extended his sympathies to heirs of the victims and prayed for early recovery of the injured. “All our sympathies, including that of the Punjab government, are with the bereaved families and we fully share the grief of the aggrieved persons,” the chief minister said.
Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the death of former Chief Election Commissioner Justice (R) Hamid Ali Mirza. In a condolence message, the chief minister prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
