LAHORE - The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday issued a notice to the Punjab Education Foundation and secretary (schools) on a petition challenging appointment of 126 monitoring officials to the foundation.  Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza passed the order on the petition filed by Advocate Shoaib Saleem.

The petitioner said that monitoring officers were appointed illegally. He said the foundation violated the ad it gave for the said posts and recruited ex-servicemen as monitoring officers. Not even a single graduate was recruited by the foundation, the petitioner said. He said the recruitment policy gives additional five marks to ex-servicemen. Preference to ex-servicemen in the light of the policy was another discriminatory act under the law, he argued. He said the foundation recruited these ex-servicemen in a corrupt way. He asked the court to set aside appointment of 126 monitoring officers as illegal and unlawful. After hearing initial arguments, Justice Mirza issued notices to the foundation and secretary (schools) and sought reply.
