Punjab as a subject would be reintroduced at Khawaja Fareed Government Postgraduate College and it will also be taught as subject at in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, said Senator Jaffar Iqbal Gujjar talking to a delegation of Punjabi Adbi Baithak and Punjabi Adbi Forum.
PAB President Afzal Nasir told the senator that Punjabi had been taught as a subject for decades but no it was replaced by computer science in 2010 and the vacancy of Punjabi lecturer in KFGPC was also eliminated. He further said that in other three provinces of the country even FIR is registered in their local and mother language but in Punjab the local and mother language is being eliminated.
Jaffar Iqbal assured the delegation that after the month of Ramazan, he will restore this subject in KFGPC and talk to the Punjab chief minister on this issue. He added that Punjabi will be started in other colleges and schools as well. The delegation also met with other parliamentarians and KFGPC Principal Muhammad Akram Chaudhry.
