ISLAMABAD  – As many as 50 photographs depicting the life of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and her portraits were put on display Wednesday at Lok Virsa here to mark her 59th birth anniversary.The National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage, Lok Virsa arranged the week-long photographic exhibition in collaboration with Senator Mrs Rubina Khalid/CEO, COSMOS Productions at the Hall of Changing Exhibitions of the Heritage Museum.The inaugural ceremony of the exhibition was followed by a cake cutting ceremony by Rubina Khalid and Executive Director Lok Virsa, Khalid Javaid.The photographs were selected from the collection of various photographers to capture the events from the life of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto to remember her sacrifices.Talking to this agency, Khalid Javaid said that the services of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto would always be remembered for the development of cultural institutions in the country.Senator Rubina Khalid said, “The Pakistan Peoples Party has a great pride in establishing cultural organizations in the country, including the Lok Virsa and the Pakistan National Council of the Arts during its first democratic government led by Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.”Shaheed-e-Jhamuriat Benazir Bhutto also took practical steps and played an enabling role in strengthening these important organizations, she said.Meanwhile, the Heritage Museum unveiled the statue of Benazir Bhutto as part of permanent displays of the museum while a documentary on the life of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was also screened.The exhibition will continue till June 26.
