TOBA TEK SINGH - Labour Party Pakistan (LPP) central leader Farooq Tariq, Pakistan Bhatta Mazdoor Union Central General Secretary Mahmood Ahmad Butt, LPP Lahore Chapter leader Rana Muhammad Aslam and local LPP leader Tariq Mahmood have demanded judicial probe into the Kamalia riots.
Addressing a press conference here the other day, they also demanded compensation of at least Rs1 million to heirs of deceased 14-year-old Ramish who was killed in riots on June 19 in Kamalia. They claimed that MNA Riaz Fatyana who was also chairman of Standing Committee of National Assembly on human rights always supported public protests against loadshedding and other issues and he could even never think to indulge in attacking the mob. They blamed that it was a preplanned conspiracy to get involved Fatyana in ugly allegations.
They added that why only seven parliamentarians belonged to opposition parties in the Punjab were attacked during protest against loadshedding.
They alleged that it showed that the PML-N was involved in the conspiracy. They also condemned the registration of FIR against 217 people regarding Kamalia riots which also included LPP, Labour Qaumi Movement and Tehreek-e-Insaf activists.
