LAHORE – The PML-N and the JUP-N have joined hands to wage a joint struggle against, what they say, the corrupt federal government and have demanded earliest possible elections in the country.
A Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan-Noorani delegation, led by Senior Vice President Shah Muhammad Owais Noorani, called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Thursday.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the overall political situation in the country with emphasis on the policies of the federal government. They believed that the whole country, particularly the people of Punjab, had been deliberately thrown into darkness.
The joint communiqué issued at the end of the meeting expressed consensus of the two sides that the inept policies and corruption of the federal government has caused the people all over the country to face agonising and torturous loadshedding, against which the PML-N and the JUP (N) must wage a joint struggle.
The meeting decided that the two parties would make joint efforts against the present government without any delay, and would stand shoulder to shoulder with each other in the upcoming elections.
According to the decision of the meeting, the PML-N and the JUP-N would vigorously strive at establishing an Islamic welfare state in the country. During the meeting, special prayers were offered for national solidarity, and deliverance from the corrupt and cruel rulers.
The JUI-N delegation paid glowing tributes to the previous government of the PML-N and the present Punjab government for unprecedented development projects in the province.
The Ulema also reminded that, during the premiership of Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan was making rapid progress, while he also transformed Pakistan into an atomic power.
