ISLAMABAD - Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Rashad Mahmood on Monday paid farewell visits to air and naval headquarters.
According to the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) spokesperson, on his arrival, a smartly turned out contingent of the PAF presented him the guard of honour.
Later, he called on Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Sohail Aman in his office.
While talking to the air chief, General Rashad expressed his deep satisfaction over the operational readiness state of the PAF. He also lauded the key role played by the PAF in the success of Operation Zarb-e-Azb. The air chief praised the services rendered by General Rashad in strengthening the defence of Pakistan and his contributions towards enhancing tri-service synergy. Earlier, he paid a farewell call on Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah at the Naval Headquarters. Upon arrival at the Naval Headquarters, the dignitary was received by the Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah.
The Pakistan Navy spokesperson said that a smartly turned out contingent of the navy clad in a ceremonial dress presented him the guard of honour.
The naval chief then introduced the visiting dignitary to the principal staff officers at the Naval Headquarters.
Later, General Mahmood called on the chief of the naval staff in his office.
During the meeting Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah acknowledged and commended the remarkable services of General Mahmood during his tenure as Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee.
Admiral Zakaullah highlighted the dynamic role played by General Rashad in his tenure to enhance the operational capabilities of Pakistan armed forces, inter-services cooperation and transformation into potent and well-coherent integrated forces of the region.
The admiral also appreciated his long meritorious services for the defence of the country and the armed forces.
On the occasion, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee thanked Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah for the whole-hearted support offered by the Pakistan Navy and expressed his gratitude and well wishes for Admiral Zaka and the Pakistan Navy.
