The government of Japan and the UNDP will sign an agreement to strengthen Pakistan's electoral process in Islamabad on Wednesday, November 22, reported Radio Pakistan.

The ambassador of Japan to Pakistan Takashi Kurai and the country director of United Nations Development Programme in Pakistan, Ignacio Artaza, would sign the agreement to provide 5.9 million dollars over three years to support the Election Commission of Pakistan.

According to a senior UNDP official, this project will build upon UNDP's longstanding commitment to develop the capacity of key democratic institutions including provincial and national assemblies and the ECP itself.
