DERA GHAZI KHAN-Deputy Commissioner Ibrahim Junaid started three-day Polio Eradication Campaign in the district by administering anti-polio vaccine to a child at Kot Haibat Basic Health Unit (BHU), about 7km away from the city.
Talking to media persons, the DC informed that 1,465 teams have been formed to administer anti-polio drops and Vitamin-A dose to 600,000 children in the district. He added that requisite security measures have been taken for the protection of anti-polio teams.
On the occasion, he directed the officials concerned to ensure administration of anti-polio vaccine to all children, under the age of five. He also urged them to play due role in raising awareness among the masses regarding anti-polio vaccination.
Junaid shared that on first day of his joining as DG Khan deputy commissioner on November 9, 2017, he paid a surprise visit to DG Khan Teaching Hospital and inspected different wards. He said that he had also inquired after patients’ health and the facilities they were being rendered. He also inspected work on a new under-construction 369-bed block on the hospital premises.
