Citizens frozen in terror

KARACHI – Unrest flared up in the financial hub city on Tuesday following a strike call given by the Awami Tehreek against the attack on its rally earlier in the day. The citizens were frozen in terror as unidentified gunmen went on shooting sprees in several city neighbourhoods. The Karachi Transport Ittehad meanwhile announced that it would decide whether to bring buses on roads on Wednesday, voicing serious concerns over the brewing violence.  Also, the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi and the University of Karachi have canceled papers over security concerns.  Besides the nationalist leaders, PML-N Sindh president Ghous Ali Shah condemned the attack on the Awami Tehreek rally. Addressing a hurriedly-called news conference at his residence, the PML-N leader extended full support to the strike called by the Awami Tehreek.
