Govt directs completion of RIC by June 30

RAWALPINDI - Under the direction of Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif, Provincial Health Department has issued a deadline to the contractors to complete the construction work of Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology till June 30.
A high level meeting was held in this regard. Additional Secretary Health, Usman Moazzam along with the senior medical officer and representative of Wasa and civil contractors participated in the meeting.
Dr Muhammad Shoaib Khan informed the meeting that at least four elevators would be installed till May 28 to facilitate patients and visitors while the HAV system of three heavy generators and Air-condition would be installed soon.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government has released Rs 20 millions out of approved Rs 80 millions for the development of the hospital’s sewerage system while the extension of drains would be started in June.
Usman Moazzam told the meeting that the purchase orders for surgical and medical equipment has been issued to eight companies while the orders would be given to remaining two companies soon. He said that demand notice has been issued for the provision of Sui gas connection in the hospital, adding that the notice would be submitted in the concerning department during next week.
