LAHORE – To make Pakistan an Islamic democratic and modern country, all the Pakistanis should follow the footsteps of Pir Syed Ghulam Mohayyuddin popularly known as Hazrat Baboo Jee , who valiantly took part in Pakistan Movement, Jihad-e-Kashmir and recognised himself as the true Muslim Leaguer.
These views were expressed by TheNation Editor-in-Chief and NPT Chairman Majid Nizami while addressing a sitting on “The services of Pir Ghulam Mohayyuddin - son of Pir Syed Mehr Ali Shah Gilani” at Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan on Tuesday.
NPT Vice-Chairman Prof Dr Rafique Ahmad, Justice (r) Nazir Akhtar, Maulana Muhammad Shafi Josh, Prof Ghulam Mustafa, Allama Nazakat Hussain Golaravi, Dr Tahir Raza Bukhari, Col (r) Ikramullah, Sheikh Abdul Hameed, Nawab Asad Khan, Nawab Ashiq Qureshi, NPT Secretary Shahid Rasheed, Rafaqat Riaz, ulema and the people from different walks of life attended the ceremony.
Nizami in his presidential address said that he was a true believer of the Sufis, adding that Hazrat Baboo Jee came to see him at his residence that he was proud of. He said that he had great respect for all the spiritual leaders who had been kind enough to him.
Nizami requested the participants to work for the strengthening of real the Muslim League, reorganise it to make the country a democratic state. Nizami asked the Punjab chief minister to repair the road that leads to Golra Sharif so that miseries of devotees could be reduced.
Prof Dr Rafique Ahmad on the occasion said that lack of good governance in the country was main reason of chaos and anarchy and the new generation must be taught about the Two-Nation Theory and services of the Sufis in creation of Pakistan.
Other speakers including Justice (r) Nazir Akhtar, Maulana Muhammad Shafi Josh, Prof Ghulam Mustafa, Allama Nazakat Hussain Golaravi, and Allama Sheikh Abdul Hameed highlighted the role of Hazrat Baboo Jee in the Pakistan Movement and stressed to follow his footsteps to make the country a true Islamic state.
