Teen stabs mum to death


LAHORE -

A teenage boy stabbed his mother to death at their rented house in the Gulshan-e-Ravi police limits on Wednesday. The killer had escaped when the police reached the spot. The body was removed to the morgue for autopsy.
Police said 16-year-old Hashim Ali repeatedly stabbed his mother Kalsoom Bibi after a brief altercation over some domestic dispute at the house on Wednesday afternoon. The mother of seven children, Kalsoom, was rushed to a hospital, where doctors pronounced her as brought dead.
Resident of Dera Ghazi Khan, Kalsoom, had been residing in Lahore with her second husband after getting divorce from her first husband through the court. The killer arrived at the house of her mother in the morning.
The police have registered a murder case against the killer on the complaint of son-in-law of the deceased. The complainant told the police that the killer wanted to contract marriage with his cousin but his mother rejected the marriage proposal. Both exchanged harsh words over the issue. The youth got infuriated, took a dagger from the kitchen and stabbed his mother repeatedly. The police are investigating with no arrest made yet.
Meanwhile, a man killed his 24-year-old nephew over some relationship dispute in the Shahdara police limits. Police said Wednesday that the youth, identified as Tariq, was standing in the street near his house in the Bota Park area when his uncle Yasin opened straight fire on him. The youth sustained three bullets and died on the spot while the killer managed to escape from the crimes scene. Police investigators say the deceased had contracted his marriage against the will of his uncle a coupe of months ago. The police are investigating.
Dacoits raid ex police chief house
Armed bandits barged into the house of Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed, the former Inspector General of Police (IGP) of the Punjab police, in the Garden Town area, and made off with cash, gold ornaments, and other valuables worth Rs1.5 million, police sources claimed on Wednesday.
Six dacoits, equipped with automatic weapons, overpowered the security guards and stormed the house of the ex-provincial police chief in the Ahmed Block of the Garden town. They held up the family members at gunpoint and escaped after snatching cash, prize bonds and gold ornaments worth Rs1.5 million.
When contacted, the duty officer at the Garden Town police station did not confirm the house robbery stating that no such case was reported yet. The police are investigating.
