Four unidentified bandits shot at and critically injured a security guard of National Savings centre on University Road and made off with cash amounting to hundreds of thousands in broad daylight on Friday.
The incident occurred in the busiest area of the city. According to details, four young bandits, armed with weapons entered the National Savings Centre and held all staffers hostage. One of the bandits fired gunshots on a security guard identified as Sher Ahmed when he attempted to overpower them. Due to which he sustained critical wounds. The outlaws collected cash and made off under the cover of aerial firing. The injured guard was shifted to DHQ Hospital. On the information, the police reached the spot and started investigation.
