Islamabad - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has appointed Sharifullah as director in the office of provincial election commissioner Punjab for the purpose of hearing and disposal of representations and objections with regard to delimitation of union councils of Islamabad Capital Territory. A notification to this effect was issued by the ECP on Friday. Earlier on May 15, the ECP through a notification had issued revised schedule for carrying out delimitation exercise in ICT on the basis of number of union councils.
“In supersession of this commission’s notification of even number dated April 25, 2015, the ECP has been pleased to fix the following revised dates for carrying out the delimitation exercise in ICT on the basis of number of union councils, notified by the government vide ministry of interior notification dated April 27, 2015,” read the notification. It said preparation of preliminary list of constituencies by the delimitation officer would be completed by May 22, 2015 while publication of preliminary list of constituencies for inviting representatives and objections and filing of representations and objections before the delimitation authorities would be completed from May 23 to May 30, 2015. The notification said disposal of representations and objections by the delimitation authorities would be carried out from June 1, 2015 to June 8, 2015 and June 11, 2015 has been fixed as the last date for communication of decisions of delimitation authorities to delimitation officers. Final notification of delimitation of constituencies by the delimitation officers would be announced by June 15, 2015, the notification added.
