Rajwana vows South Punjab's prosperity

Punjab Governor Malik Rafique Rajwana has said that prosperity and development of South Punjab is his first priority and he will make all-out efforts to facilitate people of the region.
He was talking to University of Lahore (UoL) Patron Ch MA Rauf and Pakpattan Campus President Pir Altaf Hussain Chishti who called on him in Governor's House in Lahore. Lahore High Court Bar President Pir Masood Chishti was also present on the occasion.
Governor Rajwana praised the UoL management's decision regarding the establishment of its campus in Pakpattan, saying that institutions of higher education must be established in far-flung and under-developed areas of the province to bring it at par with the developed areas.
On the occasion, the LHCBA president invited the governor to visit Pakpattan to inaugurate the new-constructed building of UoL Campus. Pir Masood Chishti also invited the governor to the shrine of Hazrat Baba Fareed Gunj-e-Shakr (RA). Mr Rajwana accepted the invitation and assured to visit Pakpattan at the earliest.

5 of a family shot injured

KASUR (staff reporter): Drug pushers allegedly shot at and critically injured six members of a family over suspicion that they had tipped off the police about their narcotics business in Kot Ghulam Muhammad locality on Friday.  The B-Division Police have registered a case.  According to Bashir Ahmed, Fareed, Nadeem, Azeem, Saleem and Abdul Raheem ran narcotics business in the area. However, when he forbade them from selling drugs, they got infuriated and opened indiscriminate firing on his family members. As result six siblings including Tanvir, Munir, Bashir, Shahid, Baseer and Sagheer sustained bullet injuries and were rushed to DHQ Hospital. The police registered a case without any arrest.
