ISLAMABAD - Two youngsters on Friday drowned in a nullah within the limits of Koral police station.
Hayat (18) and Murtaza (20), both residents of Amarpura area of Rawalpindi, were taking bath in a nullah in the area of Bangiyal when mighty waves swept them along. Police and rescue teams later recovered the dead bodies and handed them over to the respective families.
Meanwhile, Islamabad police have busted a dacoit gang and also arrested 14 other outlaws from various areas of the city, besides recovering looted items, weapons, hashish and stolen property from their possession. According to a police spokesman, Sabzi Mandi police arrested two members of a dacoit gang, Naseer and Danyal, and recovered snatched cash and weapons from their possession.
Kohsar police have booked two employees of a private company for defrauding the employer. Muhammad Mahtab Alam, owner of TechGrid, reported to police that Muhammad Zeeshan Shehzad and Hina Mahwish fraudulently transferred company’s Rs 11.3 million in their personal accounts. Police have booked the accused under section 408 of the PPC and further investigation is underway.
Industrial Area police arrested accused Abdul Qadir and recovered stolen property from him. Khanna police arrested accused Khalid Mehmood and recovered one 12-bore gun along with ammunition from him. Kohsar police apprehended four women over their involvement in immoral activities. Secretariat police recovered one Kalashnikov along with ammunition from the possession of arrested accused Intakhib Hussain. Bhara Kahu police arrested a drug pusher Nasir and recovered 250 grams hashish from him. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway.
Furthermore, Islamabad police have arrested 18 suspects during a search operation conducted in various areas of the city. Police team of Industrial Area police station conducted search in the area of Faizabad and succeeded to nab 18 suspects who are being investigated further.
