HAFIZABAD - Citizens have protested against the exorbitant prices of beef and mutton and called upon the administration to ensure the sale of hygienic meat at officially fixed prices.

The special price magistrates are imposing heavy fines on the grocers for not selling the commodities at fixed rates but they never bothered to prevent the sale of unhygienic meat at higher prices.

Moreover, milk and yogurt sellers have also increased the rates and are supplying chemical and water-mixed milk and yogurt but the administration failed to ensure supply of hygienic milk and yogurt at reasonable prices.

SECURITY DIRECTED: The managements of all A-category educational institutions have been directed to ensure installation of CCTV cameras, appointments of security guard and proper boundary walls around the premises of their institutions.

In this connection, District Education Officer (Secondary) Rana Kousar Khan visited different A-category schools in the city and directed the principals/headmasters/administrators to improve security arrangements to prevent any eventuality. The teachers should perform their duties with dedication and give due attention for the character building of their students, DC Saleha Saeed said.

While paying a supervise visit to Government Girls Higher Secondary School and Government Girls High School Jalalpur Bhattian, she said that Punjab government was providing all sorts of facilities and upgradation package to the teachers and it was, therefore, imperative for the teachers to show best possible results of their students so as to enable them to pass their lives successfully. She directed to improve the science laboratory in the high school and directed the contractors to accelerate the construction work in the higher secondary school without further delay.
