Three, including two women, killed over an old dispute

 

JACOBABAD:  Three persons, including two women, were shot dead over an old dispute over honour killing at village Wali Muhammad Dahani, in the limits of Punhoon Bhatti police station on Wednesday.

According to DSP Garhi Khairo, Agha Shakeel Pathan few unidentified armed men, belonging to Jagirani community, attacked the house of Khan Muhammad Dahani, and opened fire. “Resultantly, three persons identified as Gul Hassan aka Karehar Jagirani, 38, his wife Wadhi, 35, and the wife of Khan Muhammad Dahani, Gahiran Naz, were killed while one teenaged boy named Barkat Ali Dahani, of 16 years of age, sustained injuries. Armed assailants managed to escape from the place of incident,” he added.

DSP further added that Jagirani tribe had an enmity with Gul Hassan Jigrani whom Khan Muhammad Dahani had given shelter. “The Jagirani tribesmen sent a message to Khan Muhammad Dahani not to interfere in their dispute. Still Khan Muhammad Dahani gave shelter to Gul Hassan, which infuriated the Jagirani tribesmen, and they attacked to take revenge,” he elaborated. Police shifted the bodies to Civil Hospital Jacobabad and later handed over to their heirs after conducting postmortem examination. An FIR was to be registered till the filing of this story.
