Gas outages, low pressure irk citizens,

SARGODHA - The local people are much irked by the unannounced loadshedding and low pressure of gas in the city and outskirt areas with the arrival of winter season.
The problems of extremely low pressure and unavailability of gas are faced especially at domestic level. Mothers are worried about their schoolchildren as they have to go to the schools without breakfast while family heads are anxious over spending of their budget to buy lunch and dinner from outside. The local MNA claimed that the federal government had approved a project for the elimination of gas loadshedding this year with the installation of 16-inch diameter gas pipelines with the replacement of old pipes for the provision of gas exorbitantly in Sargodha city and adjunct residential area.
The frustrated citizens hoped that the pipeline installation might be accomplished till the arrival of hot summer so that public could find no relief yet. They demanded expedite the pace of installation work of the pipeline.
Household women said that gas pressure became feeble and often rebuffed its supply at the time of breakfast then restored for sometime at noon and lost at night so they are compelled to buy cooked edible articles from hotels and bakeries.
Sources said that the rich used compressors to suck the little gas from the pipes while the poor were among the losers. Meanwhile, SNGPL sources said that the demand of gas has been increased in winter which became the reason of gas shortage at domestic as well as commercial levels. However, the installation of wider pipes is underway and it would soon be completed, SNGPL sources added.
