Islamabad - Federal minister for Education and professional Training, Engr Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman has said that the importance of languages can not be denied because languages are a reflection of culture and civilization.
The minster made this statement while addressing the closing ceremony of National conference on Persian Language-Challenges and Future prospects at the auditorium of Higher Education Commission (HEC).
The two day conference was jointly organized by Islamic republic of Iran, HEC and National University of Modern Languages (NUML).
The minister noted that Persian language has a deep connection with our region, especially Pakistan since most of our intellectuals’ work is in Persian.
He added that a large part of poetry of Allama Iqbal’s poetry is in Persian language, and therefore we should learn it to better understand our history and civilization.
The minister congratulated Embassy of Iran, HEC and NUML for holding the conference on Persian language and said that it will prove to be a milestone in the promotion of Persian language.
He also emphasized the need of promotion of regional languages for the national integrity.
