Sit-ins create problems for public: CM

LAHORE -  Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said public service is the politics of the PML-N government.

“Resources worth billions of rupees have been utilised to improve the quality of life of the people by solving their problems,” the CM said while talking to his party legislators Wednesday. He said transparency, speed and completion of high-quality development projects are characteristics of the Punjab government.

“There is no room for anarchy or politics of chaos in current circumstances as the country needs national unity. The PML-N has always promoted political norms while some political elements tried to increase the problems of people through sit-ins,” he added.

Shehbaz said: “The government is working day and night so that Pakistan could be developed as a modern state. The government is vigorously pursuing the mission of public service despite impediments and work is being done efficiently and dedicatedly to transform the problems of the masses into relief. In our tenure, a prosperous, peaceful and economically reliant Pakistan has emerged.”

He said that instead of making any hollow claims of public service, the government has made practical steps for the welfare of the people and a network of development projects has been spread in the province. Due to the completion of development schemes, an era of prosperity will usher in. He said that basic facilities have been provided to the people at their doorstep and the masses are fully benefitting from the fruits of development.

The Chief Minister said that the claimants of change have not given anything to the people except deprivations as they have wasted all their time in negative politics and sit-ins. He said that sit-ins, the politics of allegations or jugglery are no service to the people but serving the ailing humanity is a sacred deed and added that we are serving the people as a noble deed. Our life and death rests with the people and as long as we are alive, we shall continue to serve the people, he added. He said that resources are the trust of the people and every penny is being utilized honestly for public welfare. The world is astonished at the speedy completion of energy projects. He said that the elements indulged in negative politics will not get anything and the people will hold accountability of the elements doing a sit-in politics in next elections. He said that peaceful, prosperous and a secure Pakistan is our destination and added that we are moving rapidly towards achieving that goal. He vowed that no stone will be left unturned to materialize the dreams of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal about the state of Pakistan. He advised the members of the assembly to develop continuous liaison with the people and make every effort to solve their problems.

Shehbaz Sharif said that development of less developed areas has been especially focused under a strategy of composite development adding that billions of rupees have been spent to provide basic facilities to the masses living in remote areas. He said that when PML-N came to power, the country was plunged into darkness and economically doomed. The long load-shedding hours spanning over 18 hours a day had made the life of the people a living hell and the country was also facing the problem of law & order. Meanwhile, terrorism and energy crisis had badly affected the economy but due to the hard work and continuous efforts of the PML-N, the darkness of load-shedding has been removed. It is minimum rather becomes a part of the history today. He said the consensus decisions made by the political and military leadership have shown positive results and backbone of the terrorists has been broken. Trade, economic and social activities have been enhanced and peace has been restored in the country. He said the hard work done with honesty and zeal during the last more than four years is showing results.

We all shall have to work collectively to expedite the national journey of development and prosperity, he added.
