LAHORE - Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)'s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat congratulated  Regar TadAZ's coach Makhmadjon Khabibulloev, skipper Khurshed Makhmudov and others officials/players for winning fourth AFC President's Cup . Tajikistan club won a second title after edging out holders Dordoi Dynamo (Kyrgyzstan) 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw at the Spartak Stadium on Sunday. In a tense and tight final in front of their own fans at Bishkek, Ghana-born David Tetteh's spectacular goal  12 minutes before the break looked to have put Dordoi on course for a third straight success. But after goalkeeper Vladislav Volkov handed Regar 's Davrondzhon Tukhtasunov's the chance to head home the 53rd minute equaliser after failing to deal with a ball into the area and Dordoi wasted several clear cut chances, Regar followed up their 2005 final triumph over the Kyrgyzstan champions in the shootout after 1-1 draw. Faisal specially praised the effort of Khurshed who also showed his class with five stunning goals when the event's third edition was staged at Lahore's Punjab Stadium and Railway Stadium in September 2007. Following his exploits over the two games in the Kyrgyzstan capital from 19-21 September 2008, Khurshed, who fired home a stunning winner in extra time during 4-3 semi-final win over Turkmenistan's Ashgabat, won the Most Valuable Player accolade. Member of AFC Disciplinary Committee, Faisal also gave a big hands to Pakistan WAPDA for showing stubborn, high-spirit display in Group-A at  Malaysian state Selangor. WAPDA was pitted against Regar-TadAZ, last year's runner-up Nepal Police FC (Nepal) and Abahani Krira Chakra (Bangladesh) and they conceded only four goals in three matches as keeper Abdul Aziz was splendid under the bar. WAPDA had golden chance to beat Nepalese but to the dejection of Pakistani fans, substitute striker Khuda Bakhsh fumbled injury time penalty kick. "the participation itself is a victory and winning and losing matters little, what matters is learning. One must also play a game with a spirit of true sportsmanship. One must be able to accept winning and losing as a part of any game," added Faisal under whose dynamic, committed leadership PFF was able to third edition of AFC President's Cup 2007 at Lahore besides other three events on Pakistan soil  : 9th SAF Games at Islamabad 2004, SAFF Championship 2005 at Karachi, AFC U14 Festival of Football 2006 at Islamabad. It is interesting to note that WAPDA is one of the two teams who have the honor of beating Dordoi : striker Arif Mehmood getting winner in 1-0 win at Halchowk Stadium, Kathmandu on May 9, 2005.
