LONDON:- New Zealand all-rounder Jesse Ryder has cut short his spell with Essex due to injury, the English county side announced Wednesday. Ryder , who has scored over 1,700 first-class runs and claimed 92 wickets in three seasons at Essex , has a calf strain. "Jesse Ryder has returned to New Zealand after it was mutually agreed his contract would come to an end early," Essex said. "With only Specsavers County Championship games left, it was deemed in the best interests of both parties if Ryder returned to his home country early.”–AFP
