Pindi beat Lahore in U-16 Cricket


ISLAMABAD - Rawalpindi outpaced Lahore by eight wickets in PCB-PEPSI Cricket Stars U-16 One Day Tournament Group A match played here at Bhutto Cricket Ground on Saturday.
Batting first, Lahore were bundled out for only 97 runs in 37.3 overs with Asad Rayan scoring 27 runs. Aaqib Shah got 3-13 while Aaqib Shah got 3-14 and M Farhan 2-15.  Rawalpindi achieved the target in 25.4 overs for the loss of two wickets. Mir Waiz (44) Waqas Ahmed (32) batted well.
In another match played Peshawar beat Islamabad by 60 runs at Marghazar ground. Peshawar scored 212/7, M Zawan scored superb knock of 66 runs while Syed Mohsin (31) and Salman Yousaf (30) batted well. Naeem Shahzad took 2-19 and Atif Ayub 2-61.
Islamabad succumbed to big total pressure and were all out for 152 runs in 33.3 overs. M Fahad (42) and Sheraz Ali (40) batted well. Salman Shah (4/36) and Haroon Rasheed (3-41) bowled well.
In the last match Abbottabad outplayed Fata by 127 runs at the National cricket ground Abbottabad, batting first, scored 199/5 in allotted 45 overs. Khalid Kail (65) and Mustafa Hanif (59) made good contributions.  Chasing 200 for victory, FATA were dismissed for 71 runs in 29 overs. Rafi Ullah made 20 runs. Sultan Mehmood grabbed 3-8, Khalid Khel 2-9, M Ibrahim 2-9 and Faizan Ali 2-25.
