LAHORE –Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital has not only provided quality healthcare facilities to the patients but also reduced burden on Mayo Hospital and other teaching hospitals in the City.
Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital’s Medical Superintendent Rana Naseer said that around 3 million population of northern Lahore has greatly benefited from the government move of upgrading the hospital and giving it the status of teaching hospital four years back. He said that equipment provision and free treatment has caused considerable increase in the number of visiting patients.
Giving details, he said that as many as 430,813 patients got treatment in 2009 and in the following year the number of patients increased to 618,055.
n 2011, he said that as many as 742,250 patients were treated while in the last year 946,666 patients benefited from the healthcare facilities. After its upgradation, he said, the number of visiting patients has doubled in four years. He said that all this happened due to the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and MNA Hamza Shahbaz. He said that the hospital was providing free Video Endoscopy, Echocardiography, PCR, CT Scan, Ultrasound and dialysis facilities to the poor patients. Besides these costly tests, he said, the hospital was providing expensive facilities of ventilators. He said that eight ventilators were available which were sufficient to cater the requirements of the area.
MAO College observe anti-dengue day: On the directions of Punjab Government, Govt. M.A.O College Lahore observed Anti Dengue Day was on Sunday.
Director Administration, office of Director Public Instructions Punjab Latif Usmani visited the college and appreciated the efforts of college administration for keeping the college clean.
No breeding place for larvae was seen during the inspection. Outdoor spray was done in the college campus. A walk was conducted in the college which was participated by all teaching and non teaching staff of the college.
College Principal Rashid Najeeb led the walk. Later on short documentaries were screened on prevention of Dengue in college auditorium. At the end the college principal addressed the participants and highlighted the role of teachers and students in creating awareness against Dengue fever.
