LAHORE - Punjab Police Inspector General dismissed a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) North Cantonment Lahore on Saturday on charges of corruption .
The Punjab Police spokeswoman said DSP Muhammad Nadeem Butt was a corrupt police officer and a departmental inquiry was underway against him. The IG Punjab dismissed him from service when he was held guilty. Similarly, the IGP has also forfeited two years of service of another DSP Sadiq Chandio on charges of negligence while discharging official duties. Meanwhile, three people were killed in separate incidents in the City.  Labourer Imran was working in the loader machine when he slipped and sustained injuries in Baghbanpura. He died on the way to a local hospital.
Similarly, a 38-year-old Nadeem of Hassan Town was coming back to home after offering prayer when a speeding vehicle hit him. Sabzazaar police said the man died instantly while driver Muhammad Javed has been arrested.
Meanwhile, an unidentified man, 75, was poisoned to death by swindlers in Chung police area. Police concerned said the body of the deceased, yet to be identified, has been shifted to the City morgue for autopsy. The area residents, however, said they arrested the swindlers and handed them over to the police concerned but each time police release them after taking bribe.
