JI not to let Nato containers cross Pak-Afghan border: Siraj

PESHAWAR – Jamaat-e-Islami, Naib Ameer Sirajul Haq Saturday accused ANP of taking dollars for Pakhtuns’ blood, warning that JI workers and the tribal people would not let any of the Nato supply trucker or container cross Pak-Afghan border.
Addressing a public gathering here in tehsil Jamrud, former senior minister Sirajul Haq urged the government to stop military operation against its ‘own patriotic tribesmen’ and establish sustainable peace in the region. He demanded establishment of an independent council to decide the fate of Fata, whether it should be an independent province or be merged in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He also warned that no external decision should be imposed on tribesmen, as it would be a harmful thinking.
Besides others, JI Fata chapter Ameer Sahibzada Haronur Rashid, General Secretary Dr Munsif Khan and Haji Zarnoor Afridi of Khyber Agency also addressed the gathering on this occasion.
The incumbent rulers are bent upon damaging the base and Islamic identity of the country by their un-Islamic acts, Siraj blamed, saying that the nefarious designs of the ANP-led provincial government were exposed by exclusion of Islamic teachings regarding jihad from syllabus of grade ninth and 10th.
The JI leader urged the government to follow the way of negotiations and dialogues instead of using power against its ‘own people’ in the tribal region and other parts of the country.
He said the rulers should ‘stop the dangerous policy of ruining the country to please the US.”
