Only elite benefitted in Pakistan, says CM

LAHORE - Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that since the inception of Pakistan only the elite has benefited from the national resources as a result of which the condition of masses could not improve. The Punjab government has devoted the resources for the welfare of downtrodden, he added. The CM said this while laying the foundation stone of Aashiyana Iqbal on Burki Road, here on Saturday.
He said that PML-N, under the supervision of Nawaz Sharif, was committed to work for the welfare of poor through schemes like Aashiyana, laptop for students, yellow cabs and Daanish Schools. He said that after the success of Aashiyana Quaid, the Punjab government decided to launch Aashiyana Iqbal on Burki Road under which 10,000 houses would be constructed. He said that the Aashiyana Iqbal project would be completed at its earliest.
On the occasion the CM announced that a university would be established in Aashiyana Iqbal to facilitate residents. Provincial Ministers including Abdul Ghafoor, Ehsanudin Qureshi, Land Development Company chairman also attended the function.
While criticizing policies of the federal government, the CM said that government was ruthlessly plundering the national resources. He reiterated that the looted money should be recovered and utilized on the welfare of downtrodden families. The poor had complete rights over the national resources which should be spent on their welfare, he added.
