RAWALPINDI  – Persistent suspension in supply of water to the thickly populated area of Sadiaqabad has evoked strong protest among the residents . The children and women continue to roam in search of water but they have to return homes with sheer disappointment as water is supplied for two hours after every four days from the water supply scheme of the area, said group residents .
“Water tankers owners have unleashed loot and plunder spree. They sell out a water tanker at the rate of Rs 600 and 700 which is out of our reach, said a chowkidar from a private office. The residents have demanded of the concerned authorities to ensure smooth supply of water .
Meanwhile, commuters have protested against the selling of selling unhygienic food at a Pir Wadhai Bus Stand. Due to negligence of the concerned authorities, practice of selling substandard foods to passengers has posed health hazards.
Meanwhile, cooked food is being served in unclean utensils, causing health problems. The vendors are also using contaminated spices to cook food. The commuters have appealed to the concerned authority to take stern action against the stall holders found involved in selling unhygienic.
