LAKKI MARWAT – Tehsil Municipal Administraation Lakki removed encroachments in Darra Pezu town on Saturday.
The operation to remove illegal structures from both sides of Indus Highway and military ground started in the morning and lasted for the whole day. TMO Abdul Wahid Khattak, Tehsil Officer Regulation Sabz Ali Khan, Assistant Tehsil Officer Qudratullah Khan, Chief Officer Kifayatullah Khan along with a contingent of Shaheed Haibat Ali Khan police station supervised the operation against encroachers. Illegal occupants had built shops, business outlets and makeshift on both sides of the highway and on military land as well. In the presence of officials of civic body the highway and military ground was cleared of encroachments and debris of the razed shops and business outlets was also removed with the help of tractors and other machinery.
TMO Abdul Wahid Khattak, when contacted, told this correspondent that the municipal administration would also launch operation against illegal encroachments in other areas. He warned that the encroachers would face strict legal action if they again tried to erect illegal structures on government land.
 Meanwhile, Police claimed to have arrested four wanted criminals and 10 suspects during a search operation in the remote villages bordering the frontier tribal region.
An official said on Saturday that the operation commanded by DPO Gulzar Ali Khan was successful as the law enforcers eliminated hideouts of criminals in Tap Takhtikhel, Tajori and Behramkhel villages. “Commandos of Anti Terror Squad and Elite Force along with APC vehicles also took part in the offensive against suspected militants and anti state elements”, he maintained. He told that the arrested proclaimed offenders included Khushal Khan, Sifatullah, Noor Ayaz and Azizullah. “They were wanted by police in murder and other cases of heinous nature,” he said. Official said that police also arrested ten suspects and seized four klashankovs, 63 bullets and two bottles of wine in the operation.
