KARACHI - Police killed a bandit in an alleged encounter while arrested over a dozen suspects in different raids carried out in various localities of the metropolis here on Friday.

Nipper police claimed to have shot dead a bandit in an alleged encounter at Siddiq Wahab Road, Khyber Chowck while recovered weapon from his possession. Police said that the gunmen ridding on a motorbike resorted firing when police during routine snap checking signalled the pillion riders to stop motorbike.

The bandits trying to flee while police running after the bandits and during exchange of fire bandit sitting behind the rider sustained bullet wounds and fell on the road. Police taken the bandit to civil hospital where he succumbed to his injures while his comrade managed to flee. The bandit identified as Asif Ali hailed from interior Sindh.

MAN STABBED TO DEATH

On the other side, man stabbed to death in mysterious circumstance at a local hotel located in the downtown within the remits of Preedy police station. Police said that the 19 years old Siddiqullah, Afghan national was stabbed to death by unknown assailant at the 4th floor of the hotel. Police shifted the body to morgue after autopsy while suspect that deceased’s guests were came to meet him and killed over some issue.

GANG BUSTED

Brigade police claimed to have busted a gang of bandits in a raid conducted in Lines Area while recovered weapons from their possession. Police said that the accused persons arrested were involved in number of robberies and particularly robbed the people withdrawing the cash from banks. The accused persons identified as Naveed, Safder, Danish and Ataullah Police said that three of the same gang members had earlier been killed in police encounters while police recovered weapons, motorbikes and valuables from their possession. Orangi town police team arrested three robbers while recovered weapons from their possession.

Police said that the accused persons including Waqas, Shamshad and Abu Bakar were involved in number of robberies and street crimes cases. Police managed to arrested accused person in raid conducted in sector 10, Orangi Town while recovered weapons, looted valuables, cash and snatched motorbike from their possession.  Separately, during search operation in Malir area, the police arrested two drug peddlers, Iqbal and Azhar, and recovered drugs from their possession. Police said that the arrested accused persons were involved in drug business and running a drug den in the locality.
