Jamaat-e-Islami Hafizabad District Ameer Dr Muhammad Yaseen, losing candidate from PP-105 Dr Habib Ullah Cheema and Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith (JAH) District General Secretary Haji Abdul Hammed Rehmani have condemned the Punjab government decision to start co-education in the primary school and change the medium of instruction from Urdu to English and elimination of religious/Islamic subjects from syllabus and declared that the nation will resist this evil attempt which is being made on the advice of foreign advisors.
They stressed the need for the formulation of education policy to be based on national and religious basis, saying that Pakistan was an ideological country which was simply Islam.
They also condemned the rise in the abduction and rape of minor girls and called upon the government to take stern legal action to prevent immorality, vulgarity and obscenity to check the rising trend of these shameful incidents in the country which had been attained on the basis of Islam. They also called upon PEMRA Chief to review its policies to check nudity, obscenity in different programmes and advertisements.
They also called upon the religious scholars to motivate the younger generation to mould their lives in accordance with the teachings of Islam in letter and spirit to save them from western life style and culture, which, they said, would go a long way in preventing such shameful incidents in the country.
TORTURED: Shakeel Ahmad, a tractor driver of Jurian village, was brutally tortured by former PTI Hafizabad president Advocate Shoaib Aslam Hanjra and five others when the victim demanded Rs800 from him for the supply of soil to him sometime back. The police have registered a case against Shoaib and five others and are investigating.
Meanwhile, Shakeel has been admitted to DHQ Hospital where his condition is stated to be critical.
security for churches: DPO Muhammad Zubair Dareshak has ordered foolproof security arrangements around all the 29 churches situated across the district.
During his visit to Catholic Church here on Tuesday, the DPO assured the office-bearers of All Pakistan Minorities Alliance and different Christian organisations that all out resources would be utilised to protect worship places and religious site of all minorities particularly of Christian community and police personnel in uniform and plainclothes had been deployed for effective patrolling around all Churches and localities of Christian community. He also joined the community in praying for the victims of Peshawar church carnage and expressed his sympathies with the community. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included former district council member Qamar Javed Sandhu, Father Soloman, Joseph Shahzad, Father Zeeshan Robert, Pervaiz Ghori, Master Joseph, Sufi Inayat Paul and Sohail Anwar Sahotra President PML-N (Minorities Wing).
