LAHORE - Police investigators on Tuesday again released photos of prime suspect in Lahore rape case. The law enforcement agency of the most ‘developed’ province of the country sought public help to nick the main accused as he was still at large. 
The police hired the services of ‘professional’ photo editors to improve the quality of photos, taken from the CCTV cameras installed in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, before releasing it to media.
“The police have widened the scope of investigations and have been working on multiple lines to resolve the mystery,” sources added.
“Our officers are working on this case tirelessly. We are expecting breakthrough within next two days,” Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khan Baig said while talking to reporters on the sidelines of a farewell ceremony held at the Central Police Office (CPO) in the honour of newly-appointed KPK IGP Nasir Khan Durrani.
Addressing a press conference at the Investigation Police Headquarters Qila Gujjar Singh on Tuesday, Lahore SSP (Investigation) Abdul Rab said that police had yet to get the DNA reports. He said that the polygraph test of two suspected person was under observation and it would help police unearth the truth. “We should not jump to conclusion before examining both the (DNA and polygraph) reports,” Abdul Rab added.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said Saturday that the arrest of the accused was a test case for the Lahore police , pressing the police to investigate all aspects of the case besides examining evidences by using scientific techniques so that deterrent punishment could be awarded to the accused.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry also took suo-moto notice of the incident and ordered the police to track down the criminals.
The brutal assault triggered nationwide protests and condemnations as demonstrators are calling to hang the accused publicly besides pressing the government to adopt adequate measures to fend off such happenings.
