LAHORE: Customs authorities on Saturday arrested a passenger and a PIA employee allegedly involved in smuggling of seven hunting guns from UK.  Deputy Collector of Customs Naveed-ur-Rehman Bugvi recovered seven guns from the accused worth Rs3 million. Working on a tip-off, a team of Customs intercepted the passenger holding British passport with seven hunting guns. –Staff Reporter

 The accused was named as Mansoor Aslam, resident of Gojra, Toba Tek Singh. The passenger along with the employee of the airline was arrested and FIR lodged against them.

As per Customs authorities, the passenger is a smuggler and used to sell these costly hunting guns in local market without permit and payment of duty and taxes.

During preliminary interrogations, the passenger claimed to be owner of hunting club in Faisalabad and have permit of UK government for carrying these hunting guns.
