Karachi University postpones all scheduled exams

University of Karachi (UoK) has postponed all examination scheduled to be held tomorrow (Monday) in view of unstable situation in the city amid protests to express solidarity with Islamabad demonstrators.

A fresh date will be announced later, UoK Vice-Chancellor Dr Jamal said in a statement.

Meanwhile, all educational institutions in Punjab will remain closed for next couple of days in wake of Islamabad operation against protesters camping out at Faizabad Interchange.

The decision has been taken after keeping the law and order situation of province in view, the provincial minister for education said. The academies in Islamabad will also remain closed tomorrow.

Thousands of Tehreek workers have been camping out at Faizabad Interchange in protest for over 20 days, seeking action against those involved in now-withdrawn amendments in oath taken by parliamentarians.

The government launched a crackdown against the protesters on Saturday to clear the arterial traffic intersection. However, the police remained failed to disperse the demonstrators and situation still remains tense.
