PTI wasted four years in KP, says ANP chief

PESHAWAR -  Awami National Party Central President Asfandyar Wali Khan has said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf cannot deceive the public in the name of change as nothing has been done for the welfare of the people in the last four and a half years.

He was addressing a party joining ceremony in Wali Bagh Charsadda on Saturday, where former ANP disgruntled activist Akhtar Nawaz Advocate announced to rejoin the ANP.

Central Finance Secretary Arbab Tahir Khalil, ANP Karak chapter President Sajjad Khan, ANP women leader Shahzia Aurangzeb and others were also present on the occasion. Asfandyar, while welcoming the rejoining Akhtar Nawaz Advocate into the party, said Pakhtun across the country should unite under a single platform to fight for their rights.

He urged the party leaders to woo the disgruntled party workers and spread the party manifesto to each nook and corner of the country. He said that the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa could face the existing challenges through unity. The ANP chief said that the public has great expectation from the Awami National Party as the incumbent governments in KP have only deceived the public through hollow slogans and these so-called leaders will be rejected through the power of the vote in the upcoming general elections.

He expressed deep concern over the suicide attack on Additional AIG Ashraf Noor and expressed heartfelt condolence to his family.

Asfandyar said that attacks on security forces and police are continued since long but the federal and provincial governments are not taking these incidents seriously. He said that a joint strategy will be needed to include all stakeholders to avert such kind of incidents in the future.

He paid tributes to the martyred AIG and said that his sacrifice for the cause of the country would be written in the golden words of the history. He also stressed for joint strategy between Pakistan and Afghanistan to fight out militancy as peace in both the countries was linked with each other.
