Karachi faces flour crisis

KARACHI -After suffering from load shedding, water shortage and lawlessness, the people of Karachi are facing flour crisis these days. The flour shortage intensified here on Saturday as the strike of the Flour Mills Association entered into the fifth day. Few days ago, Sindh flour mills owners had threatened to go on a strike if wheat support price in the province was not brought at par with that of Punjab. They are demanding to decrease support price by Rs50 per maund to Rs1200 a maund to bring to the level as that of Punjab. Millers said that all mills will be closed tomorrow across the city if their demands were not fulfilled.
