Ahmad Shahzad vows to come back in Pakistan team

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - Pakistan young and talented opener Ahmad Shahzad promised to improve his performance and try his level best to come back in the team after proving his worth in the umpcoming National Twenty20 scheduled to be held next month here in the city. Neither Ahmed was awarded central contract nor he included in the squad against Zimbabwe on the reports of the team management which accused him of creating conspiracy in the team. Talking to media men here at the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) on Friday, Ahmed, however, said that he had learnt from his past mistakes and would follow his career on proper disciplinary lines to make comeback and cement his place in the team. He lashed out at those people who were using indecent language against his family. If I am at fault I will be liable to the criticism but my family should not be dragged into foul language. He rubbishes the allegations regarding creating misunderstanding between Shahid Afridi and the team management. I have learnt a lot from my past failures and right now, I am keen for comeback in the team and perform well in near future series, he added. Ahmed claimed: I did not try to breach the code of conduct, If I found involved in breaching discipline then management should have taken action at the spot against me. Earlier, former Pakistan team manager Intikhab Alam said:?Shahzad was dropped because of his attitude and other issues but he had not shown improvement despite being my personal advice and by the PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt as well to focus only on cricket but if this was the reason then why the board didnt summon me under the disciplinary committee or fined me as per code of conduct. The PCB code of conduct states that anyone who has been on the central-contract list cannot talk to the media without the permission of PCB or his immediate team manager even three months after the expiry of his contract. I dont know the reason behind my ouster despite having scored a lot of runs recently. It really hurts me when at once, everything is taken from me. Still then, I will try my level best to maintain discipline, Ahmad concluded.
