LAHORE International Peace Council for Interfaith Harmony staged a demonstration at Bhaati gate on Friday to protest unabated killings in Karachi and dumping of dead bodies in sacks. The demonstrators led by Councils chairman Rana Tahir Rehmat advocate, Bishop Pervaiz Joseph and Muhammad Khushnood Dogar, were holding banners and placards calling for immediate halt in killings and urging the government to discharge its prime responsibility of protecting the lives and properties of the citizens. They warned that a conspiracy was being hatched to cut off economic lifeline of the country. They also lamented that loot and plunder had become the order of the day in the country and masses had lost confidence over the leaders. They urged upon the people to rise above religious and other tendencies to foil the conspiracy against the country.
