LAHORE - In view of the current law and order situation in Punjab, Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Muhammad Iqbal has adjourned the Assembly session till December 4.
Punjab Assembly was scheduled to resume its sitting on Monday (today) after two-day break.
According to an official notification issued by the Assembly Secretariat, the Speaker has taken this decision in exercise of the powers vested in him under rule 25(b) of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab 1997.
The notification said that next sitting of the 33rd Session of Punjab Assembly will now be held on December 4th 2017 (Monday) at 02.00 pm in Assembly Chambers instead of Monday, November 27th 2017.
The upcoming auspicious event of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) (falling on December 1) and the current law and order situation in the province have been cited as the reasons behind deferment of the sitting.
