Quetta - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said Thursday that a conspiracy was being hatched in the region to sabotage China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Fazl added that two countries – the US and India – were against this game-changer project of the region and so were hell bent on subversive attempts.
Addressing Mufti Mehmood Conference at Ayoub Stadium Quetta, JUI-F chief Fazl said that US president was still hurling threats despite the fact that they had met a crushing defeat in Afghanistan.
JUI-F secretary general Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and other party leaders also addressed the conference.
The JUI-F chief asked all state institutions and other stakeholders to get united for the sake of national cohesion and solidarity to stabilize the country.
Fazl was quoted as saying that Pakistan’s foes were trying to undermine peace in the country. He said that their ulterior designs will be frustrated.
Maulana criticizing the political rivals said that efforts by new parties’ in country’s politics were at peak to encourage vulgarity. He said these people were actually agents of the West.
He regretted that religious clerics and seminaries’ scholars had rendered unrivalled sacrifices for eradication of terrorism and extremism, but these were not recognized.
Fazl was of the view that talks of terrorism and extremism were being heard for which everyone would have to come forward to meet these challenges.
He added efforts being made to make the country a secular state would be foiled.
JUI-F secretary general Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, addressing the conference, said that Maulana Mufti Mehmood had gifted an Islamic constitution to the country, but today national exchequer was being spent on some chosen quarters.
He added that none of the party worker was involved in corruption, but politicians were establishing offshore companies with nation’s wealth.
