DPC plans to launch mass-contact movement

US Jerusalem move

RAWALPINDI -  The Defence of Pakistan Council has announced to launch a mass contact movement across the country to condemn US President Donald Trump’s decision of declaring Jerusalem as capital of Israel.

The DPC also announced a schedule for holding of public meetings in Peshawar, Lahore, Faisalabad and Karachi. A seven-member committee has also been constituted while Awami Muslim League President Sheikh Rashid Ahmed was made a convener for mustering political support for solution of issues like Kashmir dispute, Khatam-e-Nabuwat and Israeli occupation on Jerusalem.

These views were expressed by DPC leaders while talking to media men after holding a meeting at the Lal Haveli here on Thursday.

The leaders who attended meeting in Lala Haveli included DPC Pakistan Head Maulana Sami ul Haq, JuD Chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, Milli Yakjahti Council President Sahibzada Abu Al Khair, Sardar Ateeque Ahmed Khan, ex-premier of AJK,  Awami Tehreek Secretary General Khuram Nawaz Ganda Pur, Ansaar-ul-Umma Ameer Maulana Fazal ur Rehman Khalil, PML-Q Senior Vice President Ajmal Khan Wazir, MNA Jamshed Dasti, JI Shamas ur Rehman Swati, Pakistan Rabita Council Chairman Muhammad Yaqoob Sheikh and many others.

DPC Head Maulana Sami ul Haq said that their prime purpose was to guard the ideological boundaries of Pakistan. He said the wrong decision of US President Donald Trump has not only pushed the world to the verge of war and destruction but also hurt sentiments of the Muslims. “We are facing a big challenge and that is the Israel’s occupation on Jerusalem,” he said.

He said the rulers of Muslim countries are in slumber and not registering their protest against the move of Donald Trump. He said the rulers of 128 countries opposed the Trump’s decision. He said Sheikh Rashid and Lal Haveli always played a pivotal role in the country’s politics. “The whole Pindi stands on one call of Sheikh Rashid Ahmed,” he said. He added the rulers are dancing on the tune of imperialist forces while the DPC would not allow these forces to influence internal matters of Muslims. He said the DPC would hold Tahafuz Bait-ul-Muqadas conference today (Friday) in Liaquat Bagh to register its strong protest against American president’s decision of declaring Jerusalem as capital of Israel.

Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said there would be a historic gathering in Liaquat Bagh while a public rally would also be taken out from the Lal Haveli. He appealed to the citizens to come out from their houses and join the DPC in Liaquat Bagh. JuD Chief Hafiz Saeed said the Muslim Ummah should get united for shielding Jerusalem. He said the imperialist forces have ganged up to attack Islam and Muslims.
