Rs20m to be distributed on Diwali

KARACHI: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Minority Affairs Dr Khatu Mal Jeewan said that Rs 20 million would be distributed among four thousand needy persons, widows and special persons on the eve of Diwali.

This he said while talking to President Pakistan Bishop’s Council, Bishop Khadim, Chairman Grunanak Khalasa Welfare Trust, Sardar Hari Singh and Member Film Censor Board Sindh Ramesh B. Mana who called on him on Friday at his office.

Dr Khatu Mal Jeewan appealed Hindu Community to celebrate Diwali with simplicity in Sympathy with the families of those who lost their precious lives in Quetta Training School terrorist attack.

He also appealed Hindu community to organize special prayers for the Quetta Martyrs and light candles to pay tribute to them.

He said that it was need of hour to promote interfaith harmony and brotherhood and added that Hindu Community had always played important role in the development, stability and progress of the country.
